NEW Group Mat Classes
New Video Library!
I’m excited to announce a new addition to my website this month. I have added a library of videos that are available for weekly rentals. Now you can practice your Pilates from the comfort of your own home, on your own time, and whenever the mood strikes you.
Tower of Power.
I am super excited to announce that I will now be offering duet lessons on the Tower as well as the Reformer! My private clients have experienced the benefits of this wonderful piece of equipment and I wanted to be able to offer this to my “duet” clients who come with a workout partner as well.
Joseph Pilates is well known as the inventor of the system of exercise that bears his name. What is less well known is that in addition to his physical prowess and creativity, he was also a skilled inventor of exercise equipment.
What is Classical Pilates anyways?
It isn’t hard to see though why so many people are confused about “Pilates” and what it is when almost every gym and community centre seems to be offering a different version of it. Often the Pilates classes you see offered are actually adaptations or fusion classes, using elements of Classical Pilates in modern fitness and toning classes.
Why Pilates?
Well, why not? If you’re looking for a form of exercise that trains your body as an integrated whole and one that promotes strength, balanced muscle development and flexibility as well as increased range of motion in your joints, then Pilates is for you. If you’re looking for an exercise form that does all this and is low impact, then Pilates really is for you.
