Pilates workouts promote strength and balanced muscle development, and improve flexibility, range of motion and posture.
Welcome.
Joseph Pilates really said it best with this statement “The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit.” With a background in gymnastics and bodybuilding, he was a true visionary of modern day fitness training and I am proud to carry on his legacy with my teaching of his method.
Hi, I’m Deb… otherwise known as Deborah Boyd. I offer private and duet lessons on the reformer, tower and mat in my bright home studio located in historic Steveston Village, Richmond, BC. I also teach small group mat classes in Richmond and Vancouver locations.
Whether you are interested in a better integration of mind and body, rehabilitating after an illness or injury, or looking to improve your overall fitness and athletic performance, I really believe that Classical Pilates can be key for you to meet your personal goals.
I chose to become a certified Pilates instructor because I was so profoundly affected by my own experience with the Pilates. Having trained in the classical method of Joseph Pilates (under the guidance of the esteemed Emmie Li), I am a passionate believer in the power and effectiveness of the system. Pilates is an ingenious system of exercise that promotes strength, balanced muscle development, and flexibility, while improving range of motion and posture. In addition to all of these benefits, there is a strong mind-body component to it. It marries the breath to the movement. It calms your mind while strengthening your physical body.
Pilates is really all about moving well. If you live with aches, pains, injuries or are just feeling tight, that's a sign that you are out of alignment somewhere in your body or in the way you move. Pilates trains your body as an integrated whole and corrects these imbalances with the result being that you feel strong, mobile and energized.
A balanced and integrated body is necessary for movement mastery. No matter what is important to you, Pilates will help you do it better, with more energy and ease. Whether it’s just feeling better in your body on a daily basis, playing better golf or tennis or even running faster, I can help you achieve your goals.
I really do believe Pilates can help you live your best life.
